Buffalo is a provider of agnostic spatial data delivery platform built on top of open source called MapServer. It is designed to provide seamless access and manipulation of data from various data sources in single view. Buffalo’s primary vision is to provide an enhanced user experience for creation, view and analysis of spatial data. As a platform, it comprises of Buffalo Runtime, Buffalo Studio, Buffalo Server, Buffalo Plugins and Buffalo SDK. Buffalo is proprietary software; however, Buffalo SDK is distributed for free. If you want to deploy applications created using Buffalo SDK for commercial use then you have to purchase Buffalo Runtime license. Buffalo Runtime: Runtime is collection of executables and dll files required by below mentioned Buffalo Products and executing customized applications developed using Buffalo SDK. 2.
