The Buffalo Framework is designed and developed on top of the open source MapServer API. The Buffalo Core objects which form the basis of the Buffalo Framework provide core GIS functionalities. A comprehensive and feature laden collection of desktop and web controls is written on top of these core Buffalo controls. The desktop and web controls can be used to create functionality rich custom desktop and web applications as per user requirement, and as both Buffalo Studio and Buffalo Web Server make use of the same Buffalo Framework core controls, there is further assurance that there will be seamless compatibility between web and desktop applications
